Valentina has a long experience as a chef and cookery teacher, specialising in Italian cuisine and matching Italian food and wine. Valentina first arrived in Italy as a tiny baby and considers it her spiritual and gastronomic home. She fell in love with the world of cooking at the age of 8 and immediately converted the family sandpit into her first restaurant, serving an array of leaf salads and mud pies before moving on to cooking with real ingredients from around the age of 10. She then joined a cooking school in Rome where she studied for 6 years before moving to London where she began to work as a private chef. Several books, TV appearances, food festivals, food journalism, cooking classes, radio programmes and thousands of private cooking assignments later, Valentina's unique, simple food philosophy makes her one the UK's most popular food personalities. Valentina likes to always prepare elegant food that relies on the use of seasonal, locally produced ingredients, which reflect the very best of what Italian cuisine has to offer and is always prepared to share her knowledge of the dish and its ingredients with her diners if requested.
