His passion for cooking started when he was a child at his Italian "Nonna's" house. She would show him how to prepare and cook all of her home cooked specialties passed down in the family from generation to generation. Tony decided to go straight to catering college after he finished school. He graduated from a 3 year Professional cookery course with flying colors and had a great amount of food knowledge and experience. It was time to get out into the industry. Through his amazing career he worked in some of the most renowned Michelin stared restaurants in London, and Italy. Tony has also worked as a Home Economist for Television, magazines and newspapers. He has performed live cooking demonstrations at "Ideal Home Show" and co-hosted cooking Masterclasses alongside celeb Chef Aldo Zilli. His preferred cuisine is Italian, but given his experience in different cuisines, the menus and themes can be as diverse as you wish. Chef Tony took care of all the details starting with offering another option than the tartare that one of my guests could not get. We have enjoyed every course, especially the 5-hour braised lamb shoulder which was an absolute delight as it was so tender... We liked Chef Tony's menu so much that we proposed it to some other guests a couple of months later! Many thanks.
Tony was the best chef I have ever used for La Belle Assiette. I was quite specific in my requirements on what i needed from him - wholesome canapes that paired with 4 different Champagne cuvees for 30 people. I sent him the tasting notes for each Champagne prior to the event and he created canapes to match each blend. The canapes were delicious - his lamb croquettes were exceptional. All my guests were every complimentary to him. He was extremely polite and easy to work with even though I was running around all over the place he was calm and scheduled everything perfectly. I really hope I can work with him again in the future.
Thank you very much for a lovely evening. Tony arrived promptly on time and was very well organised; each dish was presented perfectly, and served in good timing with appropriate (but not too long) breaks between the five dishes that we had. Quality of the food was good. We were very satisfied with the dinner and would highly recommend Tony.

Tony showed up with nearly everything prepared - almost no mess, smells or noise! The quality of the food was terrific, we were really able to enjoy our time with our guests, and he left the kitchen cleaner than when he arrived! Highly recommend!
Tony arrived at our home at 6.30pm and by 8pm produced a wonderful five course meal for eight people. The food was excellent, Tony was charming and the kitchen left immaculate. I absolutely recommend both him and his cooking. Tony, thank you we will be back in touch for more!

Tony was an excellent chef who struck the perfect balance of being involved, offering insight and giving us space. The food was naturally incredible, right down to the home made bread. Exquisite... I had hesitated to book Chef Tony in the pas because his menu was maybe too classic compared to other, but I must admit that I was really positively surprised by the quality of the dishes. They may be classics, but they are really well cooked, rich in flavours, well portioned... I usually hate celeriac, but the soup with its gremolata and confit tomatoes made me forget that aversion. The lamb shoulder was melting literally in your mouth... So through an through a great experience, with delicious food and service from a Chef who can turn classics into surprises.
Chef Tony Locke was very professional during the whole party. He was punctual, discrete and reactive. He delivered the menu in line with expectations. The food was really excellent, especially the appetizer (beef tartare) and the dessert (dark chocolate fondant). The starter was original and tasty. The main was great although a bit more usual, and the lamb was very tender and perfectly cooked.
Overall, we had a great evening thanks to Tony. I definitely recommend him to other users!

From the moment I selected Tony to be our chef he was accommodating and personable in every way. We discussed the menu prior to his arrival via e-mail and he was kind enough to offer both a fish option and vegetarian option for our non-meat eating guests. Clearly he was intent on making the evening as enjoyable as possible for all our guests. Every course was delicious and cooked to perfection, with the assistance of Valeria who was equally as accommodating and professional in helping Tony and serving the food. Difficult to pick a favourite course but the lamb shoulder was particularly tender. Within minutes of our final course being cleared my kitchen was left completely spotless. I would most definitely recommend Tony, I hope to do the dinner party again soon and trying more of his wonderful dishes.
Tony's catering for our event was brilliant. It was completely hassle free, especially considering the kitchen is so small! The food he produced was delicious and the service as a whole was excellent.
Today Tony served us an exceptional tasty and delicate food for us.
I still remember that delicious and tender lamb slowly cooked for hours just to be elevated with special mash potatoes and roasted vegetables. Not to mention that divine artichoke soup with bread and olive oil.

Tony came in to prepare a working lunch for 8 of us in the colleague - including one vegetarian! He first produced delicious food, the cold sirloin was delicious and tender, with a well balanced side salad of tomato & onion - and the pudding was absolutely out of this world. In our offices the kitchen is in the main office, however he was totally unobtrusive, and produced, served and cleared up this delicious food without any impact on the running of the office. Would definitely recommend and use again.
Our evening with Tony was a real treat. From the beginning, he wrote in person to confirm our booking, and in the lead up to the dinner he kept me informed about any developments, and always did his utmost to meet our requirements.
The evening itself was incredible – his menu sounded delicious, and tasted even better. The monkfish main in particular was the highlight of the evening!
Through all of our conversation through the night, Tony was attentive and explained each course as he served them. My friends and I were all very impressed!

It would have been interesting from a potential future partnership to find out what that lunch would have been costed at to get an idea of "what you get for your money".
From a corporate point of view, turning to an external caterer would be for important or special meetings, in our case to impress a client further. An option of either high end disposables or actual crockery would then be preferred and perhaps an option of serving beverages which goes with the food (perhaps this service already exists for corporate orders).
Overall I was satisfied and would consider using La Belle in future for a bespoke lunch depending on costs.

The food was very good - not overcooked, well-flavored, unexpected combinations. The squash tart was fabulous as was the lamb shoulder. The food prepared by Tony was amazing: perfectly cooked, the flavours matched really well, and it was the perfect amount of food. We really enjoy the apetizers, which were a really nice way to start the evening. The products all tasted very fresh, especially the lamb which was delicious. I would definitely recommend Tony. Menu was amazaing, loved the canapés and the tempuras were some of the best i've ever had (can't believe he managed to do that in my kitchen!!).
Tony was very professional and very warm although I kept bothering him every two minutes asking for cooking tips!
If you hire him, do ask him about wine recommendation for the meal, we did and he suggested a perfect italian wine that i had never heard about (just ordered more today!)

Due to the many cuisines I have worked with, my food can be as mixed and diverse as you like. From Japanese, to American BBq, to fine dining British and French cuisine.
But my foundation and preferred cuisine is Italian due to my Italian Heritage.
Slow cooked suckling pig "Maialino" cooked with Sardinian herbs and cocoa butter.
Garlic- I grew up with it always in my food, its a fantastic flavour enhancer and it is very good for you.
Bay leaf- It goes into every sauce, stew, soup, even tea that I make. Very nice flavour and very under rated.
Basil- My favourite herb of all, eaten raw or blended into a silky pesto, it has a fantastic flavour and goes with pretty much anything.
Pasta with Lentils with my nan when I was about 9 years old. It was delicious!
My "Nonna's" recipe notebook. (Not on the shelves!) Recipes and notes she has collected and perfected over the years, past down from her mother.

I worked out there for two years, in which time I learnt the language, the ingredients they use and most of my actual cooking skills.
He had a great knowledge of food and what ingredients go well together and I learnt a lot from working with him. Also to top it off, we were awarded the First Michelin in Sardinia which was a massive achievement for us.
