Silvia is a London-based cook and well-recognised name on the international food & cooking circuit. Growing up in Rome, Silvia had the privilege of being able to carefully observe three generations of fine Italian Jewish cooks in a lively and warm environment, surrounded by Italy’s culture and the country’s great love of eating and food. Silvia is often invited to lecture on the history of Italian Jewish cookery at universities and other learning institutions, and she introduces this insight into her everyday demonstrations and lessons. She is a regular columnist for the Jewish Chronicle and contributes a monthly blog for the Women’s View section on the United Synagogues website. Silvia dedicates much of her busy schedule to providing a comprehensive catering service for a range of celebrations and events. From intimate dinner parties to large buffet lunches, canapé receptions and decadent celebrations, Silvia is able to cook at the host’s venue or premises or, alternatively, provide the food in advance.
