He has worked in prestigious restaurants like Le Tastevin (a 2 Michelin star in France) and worked oversea in Japan (which help him to developed a unique style of cooking). Philippe has been in London for 20 years where he has worked for High Table and Avenance. He is now running his own catering department at a Law firm. Philippe guarantees client satisfaction by always being readily available, regardless of the constraints. To date, Philippe continues to provide first class meals to clients/employees of the firm (including canapés, dinner , finger food, buffet and wine tastings). In addition, Philippe also offers and undertakes cookery classes for employees of the firm, which have proven to be in high demand. I have used La Belle Assiette a number of times. I keep returning to their service because it is excellent. They have a roster of very professional chefs who pull together a superbly executed dinner party.

The experience with Philippe was amazing. ...and it was an EXPERIENCE. I booked with him for my wife’s 40th birthday celebration. We have two young kids so we wanted to keep the celebration at home while they slept. Philippe was very pleasant and engaging. And, the food he cooked as amazing! Our guests were at a loss for words. We, as well as our guests, frequent Michelin starred restaurants, and Chef’s food (which he prepared in our home kitchen!) certainly lived up to the standards.
Phillipe was absolutely superb. The dinner party kept changing size as more people decided to join and then one woman announced the night before that she was pescatarian. Phillipe handled everything without fuss. The meal was splendid and the service excellent.
The food was excellent, the chef and waiter very professional. The confit of duck in particular was superb. Having a waiter made the event relaxing for me. The sparkling candle on the cake was a lovely touch.
This surprise dinner for my wife was a complete success, from the Chef Phillipe arrival on time, to his flexibility with the timing (we had 2 children to put to bed while he was cooking!), and to of course his delicious dinner. Merci Chef !

Philippe was excellent in every aspect, his professionalism was outstanding, from making final touches to the table, to serving the drinks and explaining the dishes. The food was delicious, particularly the salmon sashimi and the trio of deserts. He had made a cake so we could put candles on it to sing happy birthday and then added it to the plate to make the trio, it looked and tasted fantastic, really added the wow factor. We would book Philippe again in an instant!
Philippe did a wonderful job with our dinner and I would heartily recommend him. He was responsive and flexible in the planning stage, allowing us to completely customise the menu and making clever adjustments to manage our need for a dairy- and gluten-free menu, including making a DF/GF birthday cake. The food itself was delicious. Side note: we arranged through Philippe to have a waiter (Ludovic) to help with set-up, serving drinks and cleaning up - and it was so worth it. I've never felt less stressed about having a dinner party in my life! Five stars all round.

A superb evening! Great fun, great food, exceptionally well organised. The Chief's surprise birthday cake and the hand made chocolates were delicious. The booking was made a few months in advance and there were a couple of phone calls in the last few weeks to firm up some items and suggestions. It was all efficiently carried out. Chief Philippe's assistant organised drinks prior to dinner and kept the wine glasses topped up. We could not pick one dish out from the others as they were all superb - my personal by a short tail was the lobster ravioli. It was all certainly fine dining at home.

Philippe was incredible and our special 50th birthday party was amazing! Philippe got in touch very early on in the process to discuss all the details with me, which was very reassuring and established a good rapport from the start. On the day, he arrived early and helped me with the table setting and was calm and friendly throughout. The food was beautifully presented, the beef earned compliments from all our guests, in fact all the ingredients were superb and the flair with which Philippe prepared and presented them was very much in line with a Michelin quality experience. At the end, my kitchen was spotless and tidy, a wonderful gift at the end of the evening!

We were celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary with family and friends. Philippe communicated with me before the event and we decided on a gorgeous menu. He duly arrived at our house and discreetly but magnificently produced a delicious four course meal plus homemade chocolates for us and our eight guests. The tuna sashimi appetizer was so tender and tasty. The goat cheese curd with asparagus starter was a hit with all our guests. Very light and refreshing. For the main course we had slow cook roast fillet of beef which was pink in the middle and so tender. For our non meat eating guest he prepared a sea bass fillet with a white wine veloute. Our trio of dessert included a slice of a delicious raspberry and chocolate cake that Philippe had made especially for us to celebrate our anniversary. He was accompanied by Ludovik who served our drinks and food with grace and wit. All in all I can't recommend the night highly enough. To eat such quality food in the comfort of your own home with good friends and family prepared by a chef as skilled as Philippe was just magnificent. Thank you La Belle Assiette and thank you Philippe.

Chef Philippe was fantastic, very professional, engaging and happy to help in anyway! The food was amazing, he even accomidated to a couple of my guests request who were vegetarian and diary free. You wouldn't have know he was there cooking in the kitchen in an open plan situation, wasn't over powering in anyway, he cleaned up when that was even necessary for him to do! I would certainly hire chef Philippe for other dinner event I was having!

Everything ran extremely smoothly - there was plenty of food and drink and the wait staff were very attentive. Couldn't have asked for any easier evening of networking and as the host I didn't feel under any stress thanks to Phillipe and his wait staff.

I worked with Philippe on hosting a surprise birthday party for my partner, and I can highly recommend him as both a wonderful, professional chef and host.
Highly communicative, he kept me informed in a very timely manner and was very helpful in ensuring I had everything I needed to execute the dinner (we've just moved into a new flat). If you're worried about the atmosphere of having an unfamiliar face at a dinner party, you needn't be! This is clearly not Philippe's first rodeo and he was very personable and easy to get along with right from the start, but maintained a discreet service throughout the meal and when cleaning up and leaving after the meal.
We had the Japanese French Fusion menu, and Philippe also very kindly made a delicious birthday cake that he served as part of his trio of desserts. I wanted something a little different and the menu certainly delivered. All of the guests made compliments about the standard of the cooking and flavours -- and we all love to eat! Neither my partner or I tend to order chicken as a main, so it was quite a delight to get a chicken dish that was so full of flavour!
Philippe also put together a recommended wine pairing, and each of the wines that he suggested were unlike anything we had tried before. Very enjoyable!
All in all, a wonderful evening, so a big thank you from me and all of our guests!

Chef Philippe Roth surpassed all our expectations. He made contact well in advance to ensure the evening would be perfect. He chose exquisite wines to complement the courses. He arrived with Swiss precision timing and looking immaculate despite carrying heavy bags. He knew it was a birthday surprise for my husband and made an extra chocolate tart with candle!. Philippe's personality was the perfect combination of warm, friendly, discrete, humorous and super-professional. Each course, beautifully served and described, was divine. Unbeknown to me, he cleared everything up before leaving so I found a tidy kitchen as sparkling as an operating theatre at the end of a wonderful evening. Philippe, in a delightful way, even engaged our excited 7 year old, turning table-setting into an educational game! I can't wait to ask Philippe to come again.

During the run up to our dinner party for 12, we chatted about the menu, and on hearing we had lived in Japan he amended the appetiser to an incredible salmon tataki with delicate red shiso leaves. It was incredible. He was very professional, paying great attention to the cutlery, flatware and dinner settings and ensuring we had enough, as well as amending his menu to suit 2 of the guests dietary requirements. On arrival, Phillip was chatty, and personable and quickly put me at ease. This was essential since we have a very open plan kitchen and dining area. Due to the number of guests he brought some assistance for serving; manis was friendly but unobtrusive. Last, but not least his food is incredible, delicately balanced, delicious and beautifully presented. It was a very special evening and we will definitely book him again. Thank you Philippe!
