About the Chef

Omar grew up in a family of restauranteurs and it is in the kitchen where he spent most of his summer holidays while growing up. At a very young age, Omar started to appreciate how food was presented, amazed by the different textures, the competing aromas, the countless shapes – quite simply, he fell in love with the foo...... Omar grew up in a family of restauranteurs and it is in the kitchen where he spent most of his summer holidays while growing up. At a very young age, Omar started to appreciate how food was presented, amazed by the different textures, the competing aromas, the countless shapes – quite simply, he fell in love with the food that was prepared in his parent’s restaurant. However, he had yet to know that his fascination was in fact his calling as well. Indeed, Omar took an unconventional route to becoming a Chef having started his career in Finance and Banking. After working in the corporate world for 2 years, he soon realised that such an environment was not one he could flourish in, nor was it capitalising on any of his strengths. He decided to attend culinary school in Paris at l’École Grégoire-Ferrandi, after which he worked in several prestigious restaurants in Paris and London, including the highly acclaimed 2 Michelin Star Restaurant Akrame in Paris.
