Chef Michael was fantastic. The menu was creative, delicious and high quality. He is very personable and engaging and added to the evening by speaking about his vision for the courses that he had created.
The whole experience was superb and I would highly recommend it.

We all had a fantastic evening. We were all extremely impressed with Mike's professionalism and passion for what he does. His food really was good and he added a few very delicious surprises too! It was a real pleasure for me in the way he just got on with things and cleared up beautifully (he even swept the floor).

Michael catered dinner for 9 people for us. He was fantastic from beginning to end. He is clearly passionate about food and this was evident throughout the experience. He was eager to discuss the menu, adapt to our preferences, suggest new ideas based on his travels and came up with a menu that was perfect for all of us, including more than one choice for each course! The small touches made all the difference including providing home made bread, and surprising us with honeycomb.
Michael's enthusiasm for his food was as exciting as his food. The flavours were intense without being overbearing and he was a pleasure to have in our home.

Our first experience with La Belle Assiette who were helpful and efficient giving us confidence that we would have an excellent evening. Michael was an extremely knowledgeable and friendly personality with an infectious enthusiasm for his art with absolute professionalism, he was a pleasure to have around our home. Michael was extremely tidy throughout and left everything immaculate on departure. I cannot recommend an evening with Michael and La Belle Assiette highly enough. What a treat
As new parents it is challenging for us to eat out in the evenings so it was a real treat to have Michael come and cook for us. The food exceeded all expectations and each course was fantastic, although I think my personal favourite was the scallop with cauliflower puree. Michael had just the right balance of interaction with us whilst at the same allowing us to enjoy the fabulous food. His enthusiasm and passion for what he does really came across. I wouldn't hesitate to book him again.

This was our first time experience of a chef in home and Michael's food exceeded our expectations. His food was delicious, well presented and served on time. Michael spent time talking through each dish with us, explaining the method of cooking and invited us to try our hand at a few techniques which delighted my husband as a keen novice cook himself. We were literally blown away! As soon as Michael and Jayne arrived they just got on with it. Such lovely people, so professional - they fitted in perfectly with all of our guests. Highly recommend the tasting menu - 8 incredible courses, each so individual with such thought and attention to detail. Big flavours, absolutely delicious. Michael introduced each course with such passion, you could tell that he had put heart and soul into it. Absolutely stunning. Such a luxury but so worth it.

Mike catered for four parent's 70th birthday celebrations in Stratford. Not only was the food fabulous (the beef was literally melt in the mouth) the overall experience was memorable and satisfying because Mike clearly loves what he's doing. His enthusiasm is infectious and it showed in the food that we ate. He was punctual, prepared, and provided an interesting and fun commentary on the food. I cannot recommend him highly enough - it was on a par with some of the top restaurants in London.

Michael cooked us a wonderful meal which exceeded our expectations. He was happy to explain how he had cooked each course and the ingredients used. He has a great personality and interacted well with all of our group, which included young children. He helped to make our Golden Wedding Anniversary a very happy occasion. Mike was incredible from the moment he was assigned to us. He offered up a choice of options for the menu and even gave us options on the night. he was charming - he charmed the pants of our Hen's mum! punctual, helpful and most of all his food was excellent... he even washed up!
Michael produced a fantastic dinner. There were lots of great flavours and they all worked together. It was meant to be just a dinner for 2 but our daughter was too interested in what was going on and Michael accommodated her by making some extra nibbles! The passion and excitement Mike showed in his cooking blew us away. He is an amiable chef who loves his job and I wouldn't hesitate to hire him again. The food he cooked was enjoyed by both vegetarians and non-vegetarians. The breads he cooked were delicious with interesting tastes and textures. Loved the whole experience.

I’d like to thank Mike for taking us on a wonderful food journey. From the moment we arrived and saw what was being prepared in the kitchen we knew we were in for a treat and we were not wrong. Mike talked us through all the different courses and the thinking behind them – he tried some adventurous canapés that really worked well. His passion for food was infectious. I can’t believe he made everything from scratch even including the bread on our side plates and the array of biscuits to eat our cheese with. It’s the first time I’ve been to a dinner party where we have looked up at the clock and been shocked to see it had got so late. We were so busy having a lovely time the hours just flew by! Mike, not only is a great chef, he is a very personable guy which made the evening even more relaxed and enjoyable. Mike is a brilliant chef and such a great guy. Excellent food great service and such a hard worker and his enthusiasm is so catchy and it all makes for a fantastic magical night.
Mike is an extremely likeable young man with an energy and enthusiasm which is infectious.
He happily takes time between courses (where he finds the time only he knows) to explain each dish and its creation.
It is immediately apparent he has a remarkable palette.
The canapes marked the start of an extraordinary evening’s journey. A Salami Basket with Avocado, Tomato and Coriander Salsa – crisp like the best bacon you’ve ever tasted with zingy salsa from which every flavour emerges – to a light as feather Broccoli Beignet with a sublime sweet chilli sauce and basil.
Bring on the Amuse Bouche. Celeriac & Lemon Veloute with Coconut Foam. On paper this sounds strange (at least it does to non chefs) and a little voice inside shouts no, but that little voice quickly shuts-up on tasting. It is served with a freshly made selection of bread rolls.
Mike, whose food leans to a Mediterranean style, influenced by strong Spanish family links, admits he’s an inventive chef. We quickly come to realise and appreciate the fact.
We are then presented with a pasta dish par excellence – Chestnut Mushroom Tortellini with Spinach and Beurre Noisette. The pasta hand rolled (no machine) of course!
Our host began to question whether Mike had a secret team of Umpa Lumpa-like sous chefs busy working for him in her kitchen
But one man it was as the main arrived – succulent Roasted Chicken Thigh with Apple and Ginger, Pomme Puree, a chicken mousse Boudin, and the lightest chicken skin Tuile. Packet the latter and Mike could have a pub favourite to accompany a beer.
And still the magic continued as out came a surprise course – Mike’s own Mojito jelly with mint which exploded in the mouth – think sorbet palette cleanser – ahead of a desert of Strawberry Textures – parfait, mousse, gel, crisp and sorbet.
A cheese board followed, with chef’s own handmade biscuits, and Petit Fours, including a white and dark chocolate ganache lollipop.
It finished a meal which will live long in the memory, and that is down to the dedication and natural born talent of Mike Taylor.
Thanks to Mike the entire evening was wholly memorable for the six of us; we were bowled over by the presentation and the flavours he created. From the moment he transformed our kitchen into his own – a feat in itself, preparing such an inspired and delicious banquet with someone else’s oven and utensils – to the midnight hour when he left, the evening was an exciting voyage of discovery. Mike was so passionate about his work and that spilled over into every tasty course he created – including some additional ones that weren’t on his menu. What was so amazing was the way he experimented with some of the courses as he went along, trying something new with different ingredients and enthusiastically explaining how every course had been created. It was a dinner party to remember, thanks to an extremely talented and personable chef

Working as personal chef to the family of Vanessa Maye, the violinist. I turned 30 this year and we celebrated with champagne high up in the French Alps in their ski chalet. I will always remember that moment.
