Born and raised amongst the scents and flavours of a gastrocentric culture in Porto, Maria began to wonder if she too, could embrace the art of culinary skills. On the day she left her emerging career as a photographer to pursue a life as a professional Chef, she realised she wasn't exchanging careers - she was merging her passions. Today Maria sees food as a multi sensory experience that brings together taste, sight and smell. She started her training at the Cordon Bleu in London, an establishment known for producing some of the finest Chefs in the world, but it was working at Koffman's that Maria gained an in depth knowledge of the business from the great man himself. She then led an Italian kitchen for a couple of years before becoming a freelance Chef alongside renowned catering services, festivals, and restaurants.
