Livia is qualified in pastry, cooking and culinary management from the Cordon Blue in London and Tokyo, holds a degree in culinary techniques from the International Culinary Centre in New York and did some training at the Alain Ducasse school in Paris. Livia is qualified in pastry, cooking and culinary management from the Cordon Blue in London and Tokyo, holds a degree in culinary techniques from the International Culinary Centre in New York and did some training at the Alain Ducasse school in Paris. With over 10 years experience in the food industry, she has worked not only in restaurants but also in bakeries, in catering and as a food stylist and food consultant. She has spent time in numerous kitchens including Alain Ducasse at the Dorchester, Claridge’s and The Fat Duck in Bray. Ever since Livia was a child, there was always an expression of food and different cultures in Livia's household. Her family is a melting pot, with an Italian father and an American Cuban mother. She grew up in Geneva and then lived and travelled all over the world. Every summer was spent in Italy where the days would shape around delicious meals made fresh Mediterranean ingredients. Fresh bread would be baked in the morning by her grandfather while her grandmother would be cooking up a feast. Her mother always had her by her side in the kitchen and insisted she tried everything. All of this contributed to Livia falling in love with food and cooking, and led to her wanting to share this passion with people around her, offering others a sensory journey through eating. Her cooking has a strong Italian and Mediterranean influence and of course includes French recipes acquired during her training, but when eating Livia’s food you will also sometimes encounter a fusion of global flavours inspired by her heritage and extensive travels.
