She taught him all the secrets of genuine authentic Italian cooking, passed down from generation to generation. She taught him all the secrets of genuine authentic Italian cooking, passed down from generation to generation. Most pertinently, he learned the importance of sourcing the freshest ingredients and its centrality to Italian cuisine. Since moving to London, he has worked as a chef in several well-respected Italian establishments. Now, he is more passionate than ever about producing his signature hand-made pasta dishes for his customers. He is not only an expert in Italian food, but he also has a diploma at Le Cordon Bleu cooking school in London, where he studied French cuisine. He recently took a course in Italy with the famous Gualtiero Marchesi who is, for Gio, the 'father of modern cuisine'. Today, he is a proud member of the slow food organization in the UK, and is also one of few chefs that are members of the slow food Chef Alliances. Gio is studying to become a master of wine after achieving a diploma as a Sommelier from the Italian Sommelier Association. Gio is a pro! He prepared a beautiful meal for 6 of us - classic Italian fare, even sourcing some of the ingredients from his garden - and then left the kitchen spotless! He is a very pleasant person to be with as well. We would highly recommend him!

Gio arrived two and a half hours early to prepare our meal. He was extremely efficient, pleasant and unobtrusive. The canapés and all the food which he prepared was excellent. Particular mention must be made of the steak which he cooked to individual requirements and was one of the best we have ever tasted. Our guests, (there were thirteen of us altogether) really appreciated his cooking. If only we could have taken him home with us!

A must do experience for a group of you! Gio was polite, knowledgeable and the food was amazing! The fillet steak main was all the group could talk about the next morning, all the food was cooked to perfection and presented beautifully. Whenever we had questions regarding the food / cooking method Gio was able to provide detailed answers and took an interest in the questions we asked - 5 stars!
This dinner was quite important to me as it was my wife’s 40th so very little margin for error. Being the first time I’ve used this or any other service, I was a little apprehensive, so did my research and happy to report the reviews for Chef Gio were absolutely spot on, and then some. To start with our planning, he tweaked the menu to include a dish that incorporated l truffle which is my wife’s favorite. He also recommended wine pairings that made me feel more confident that this meal would be a success. I am very happy to share that this meal was one of the best. Besides the food being excellent, Chef Gio brought every meal to life for us and our guests with insights and stories that were personal to his experience and the history of the food that made us feel that we were in Venito from where he hails from. He was both both tentative and had the emotional intelligence to know when to dip out and let us just enjoy. After a fantastic meal he cleaned everything up and even emptied our clean dishes from the dish washer before putting in the dirties. Overall, excellent, made it easy for me where I could focus on enjoying the birthday and then no worries cleaning up. Highly recommend!!!

I booked the degustation menu Fioraso for my 60th Birthday for 6 people. . We sat back and relaxed while the chef prepared the menu. The meal was served over several hours . Each plate was presented and described by Gio. The food was delicious and tasty and looked good. Gio also served 2 large bowls of fresh Italian bread. one guest was vegan and this was not a problem.

Joe created a wonderful experience in our own home. We enjoyed learning about the food we were eating and the accompanying wine. We had two toddlers upstairs and one baby in the room - Joe was very flexible. As an added bonus our kitchen has never looked so clean!

A great experience from start to finish, and a lovely change. Booked for an 80th Birthday treat. Gio cooked different dishes for a younger diner (exceptional pasta, which our son said was the best he'd ever tasted!) and fabulous food for the rest of us. Dishes were introduced and explained with enthusiasm and passion. We didn't order any pasta, but we were treated to an 'extra' taster dish of pasta which was indeed spectacular. Gio was extraordinarily easy going in the kitchen and incredibly 'tidy' in everything he did, leaving the kitchen immaculate. The first time we have had a private chef experience and Gio made it a resounding success!

We had a fantastic evening at our house on Saturday night (28.04), a surprise intimate birthday meal for my wife. Chef Gio was fantastic, with regular communication beforehand to check for any menu changes or other preferences. My wife is passionate about Italian food and we thoroughly enjoyed chatting with Gio, who gave us his recommendations on all of his favourite Italian restaurants in London, which we hope to now visit.
The concept of having a chef cook in your house takes all the stress and logistics out of a dinner party. It also means you can bring your own wine without restaurant prices. We have an open plan space and welcomed Gio being part of the group and talking to us about his food and background. And, a huge bonus is that the chef washes up, saving you that dreaded task the next day.
Although this was probably a one off, I would not hesitate to use the service again in future, we cannot rate it highly enough and Gio was the perfect fit for our group. We have still not stopped telling people about our amazing evening! Thank you.

Gio was incredibly accommodating (we had some rather tricky dietary requirements) and professional in his communication; His food was superb (especially the tortelloni with truffle and grana padano sauce; and the orechiette with beetroot he made specially for us was utterly unbelievable!). He was incredibly good-natured and informative and his passion for his food and for the dishes of his native Veneto really shone through. He happily provided recipes when asked, his service was attentive and and he left the kitchen absolutely spotless. All in all it was a wonderful dinner and his presence allowed us to really relax and focus on our special occasion. I'm confident that several of my guests will probably book him again. Food was delicious - high end restaurant quality. Gio was flexible with the menu for 12 (we had one veggie, and I didn't like sound of the original dessert) and with timings when a guest came late. Prepared, cooked and cleaned up everything. Explained the courses which the guests really liked as it showed his passion. Would do it again.

Firstly, Gio stepped in as a replacement the night before but was more than happy to take on the original menu but with the added bonus of tweaking it to play to his strengths.
We weren't disappointed. Gio turned up, was exceptionally polite, friendly and enthusiastic which is exactly what you want. We hadn't used this service before so weren't sure what to expect, but the 6 of us were all mightily impressed. The food was to a very high standard indeed, each course being explained in detail but not too much as to be over the top. Gio was more than happy to field questions along the way, of which there were plenty!
And when all was finished, the table was clear and the kitchen was clean and clear....just the ticket!

Gio is an absolutely incredible chef; we all agreed that his three dishes were some of the best we had ever tasted. The seabass was divine, the risotto was rich and creamy but not especially heavy, and the panna cotta was to die for. Gio explained quite a bit about each dish he served and was a wonderfully laid-back, charismatic guy. We are already wondering what we can book him for next!

The food was delicious, he explained all of the courses and as an anniversary present to my parents they were extremely impressed. Chef Gio was fabulous. The meal was just as we hoped it would be, light and tasty. Gio was very unobtrusive and yet is clearly passionate about the food; his descriptions of each course were great. The kids absolutely loved his fresh pasta. I would definitely recommend Chef Gio and hope to use him again soon.
Chef Gio was amazing. The initial menu called for veal but as my guests did not eat veal he quickly re-worked it to include a beef starter, a riossotto saffron dish as a main.
He arrived, like a true gentlemen, right on time, had everything prepared for 8pm and gave all the guests an introduction to the food being prepared and a personal story which made the food taste all the better.
We were also able to sample some fresh pasta made by him which was excellent, the beef starter was divine, the rissotto was fun, light and a beautiful color. The dessert was the best part! It was the chef's family recipe and was an all round hit. I would highly recommend this chef!

The food was all good, particularly the beef which was delicious, and the mushroom appetiser and burata starters were very tasty too. Minor points- the pastry was undercooked on the dessert and the polenta was a little bland. I would thoroughly recommend the service and Gio for a special occasion.

Having a chef cook dinner for us in our house was absolutely wonderful! It was a present for my partners 30th birthday from his friends.
Gio was extremely professional but very easy to talk to. His passion for food was very obvious and he gave us great cooking and restaurant tips! We will definitely be trying a few of his suggestions. He wasn't protentious either- he said the best mozzarella he's found for pizza he makes at home is from Morrisons! Definitely going to try that one.

Highlight was definitely the shallot sauce that came with the steak. Absolutely incredible! And the steak was cooked to perfection. Quite impressive saying he was using our rubbish ikea pots and pans!

I enjoyed the dining experience overall, the chef was very professional and excellent cooking, and very pleasant. Great explanations about each dish as well. Personally I think just being two people at home with a chef was a bit awkward, would have been more fun with more people perhaps. I didn't like the marketing team calling me up to chase me for a review during working hours - that was only after 1 review prompt email. It's way too full on, I didn't like being bothered at work for something like this with a call, and the guy started asking me to give reviews directly, without first checking if I have the time. Didn't like it.
The food was amazing and Gio was passionate about every dish on his incredible gourmet taster menu. His descriptions made the food come alive. He was professional yet friendly and relaxed from start to finish.

The Chef was very professional and informative. He had a passion for food and it showed. Before every course a proper explanation was given that made the experience highly enjoyable. The children had a different menu to us and they thoroughly enjoyed everything too. Nothing was too much trouble for Gio and he was very flexible on timings too.

Great all round experience. Actually felt bad about not engaging with him as much as we might have done - reflecting how much he let us have our own time around the table without having to play a host role and disappear off for something every few minutes.
Gio was fantastic! He was very accommodating prior to the meal with dietary requirements and menu changes. He arrived on time, was discrete whilst cooking and gave wonderful explanations of the dishes he made. The food was delicious and everyone had a brilliant time. Gio not only cooked, but washed up everything and left the kitchen immaculate. There were 12 of us celebrating my dad's 60th birthday and it worked really well. Would highly recommend Gio. Chef Gio created the perfect evening for us - a surprise birthday dinner. Gio was incredibly professional and a pleasure to speak with. Each course was prepared with care and the whole meal was delicious and to such a high standard. He gave an introduction for each course, about the ingredients or history of the dish. This added a wonderful element to the experience. The kitchen was spotless - he cleaned everything up. We would definitely have chef Gio come again - very highly recommended!

I honestly could not have wished for better on our first anniversary. Chef Gio was absolutely superb - his polite demeanour, his enthusiasm for the food and ingredients, his attention to detail...he was superb, in every respect. And as for the food, my wife commented that it was up there with the very best meals we've had out, ever. I feel sure we will be asking Chef to come back again. Truly, he was absolutely outstanding. We have a young daughter, and wanted to celebrate our wedding anniversary, so instead of the hassle of babysitters and going out we decided on the in-home service, and were very pleasantly surprised. Chef Gio did a wonderful job and made our wedding anniversary extra special. The food was wonderful, it was the best pasta we've ever had (including compared to Michelin starred restaurants), and Gio's warmth and enthusiasm for the food he was cooking was infections and made the evening all the more special. Our kitchen was left absolutely spotless after he left, we couldn't recommend Gio highly enough. It was also reasonably priced.

This was a prize for a winner of our competition which we ran at www.mollymojo.co.uk and the winner fed back she had the most wonderful time. They felt completely spoilt. Grandma was there too and the 8 course meal was delicious. With a newborn baby it made for some 'quality time' and they could not sing the chef's praises enough.
Gio explained everything about the dishes and where in Italy they came from and as the little one wasn't going down he was also extremely patient and accommodating.
Gio is a 5 star Chef. This was our third experience with La Belle Assiette. All have been wonderful. However, Gio made our daughter’s birthday dinner a truly fabulous occasion. Even though there was a great deal of traffic he arrived promptly. He was both relaxed and professional. All the dishes were delicious and distinctive. The explanations added to our enjoyment. We cannot pick a favourite dish because they were all perfect. Our whole family had a wonderful evening and thank Gio so much for a unique dining experience.

What a fabulous experience, superb food and all round fantastic chef. Gio was a pleasure from start to finish, taking control of the kitchen with the absolute minimum of fuss, creating a stunning meal with surprises throughout, and taking the time to explain his wonderful dishes with a history, provenance and how they were constructed. I wanted to surprise my wife with something special and all my expectations were met. The food was lovely, rich in flavour but still delicate and light. The fresh pasta was unbelievably good (and we are from Italy so we know what good pasta looks like!). Chef Gio was great in explaining all courses and also sharing some of his stories. All in all, we highly recommend him.
Excellent food. Every course was tasty, well presented and interesting. Gio was also enthusiastic, really seemed to enjoy presenting his food and keen to ensure we were enjoying the experience (which we were!).
We had an amazing meal with our friends. Everything was beautifully prepared and presented. The flavours were wonderful. Even our friend who is not keen on fish enjoyed everything and cleared his plate! Geo explained the food he was serving us and his passion for it was obvious. He and his lovely colleague looked after us all evening even opening and serving our wine for us. They also left the kitchen spotless and everything put away in it's place. Gio and his talented assistant cooked and served-up truly genuine and authentic dishes sourced with the freshest of ingredients. Our guests where impressed and we had a wonderful evening. I did not have to lift a finger during the meal (except to pour wine!) and the kitchen was left cleaner than when they started.

Both times he was very professional and well prepared. The food was delicious and the kitchen left slick and span.
He adjusted the menu to accomodate my requests for the second meal and brought his delightful girlfriend along to help out. They worked together as a great team.

Everything was perfect: the food, the atmosphere and the professionalism of Chef Fioraso. Me and my boyfriend were really able to enjoy the evening: we didn't have to lift a finger: Che Fioraso cooked for us a beautiful meal, took it to the table and then cleaned the kitchen that was left spotless. It was like having a Michelin starred restaurant brought to your house. Not only was the food delicious but also accompanied by very interesting introduction by the chef who gave us some information about every dish. You could really see his passion: for him it isn't just a job, it is what he loves.
What a fantastic experience - we have a little baby so find it hard to get out so what a great way to celebrate a special day within the comfort of your home. Gio and his assistant were professional, enthusiastic and the food was delicious. We wanted to change the dessert from the original menu and Gio catered to our request without hesitation. One of the nicest Tiramisus we have had in a long time!

Gio Fioraso prepared a fabulous meal from beginning to end! He surprised us as well with a courgette frappe to go with our Prosecco cocktails before dinner. The started was a totally different and fresh take on Aubergine Parmesan no heavy sauces, just pure nature flavours to tantalize the palette. The presentation for this as for all the dishes was delicate and elegant. The Sea bass Ravioli was fresh and delicious and the portions were generous. In fact one of my guests said " this is like going to a first class restaurant but better"
Gio also served each dish to the guests in a charming manner explaining each course. He cleared away everything and the kitchen was perfect when he left. He and his partner are both delightful and I would not only recommend them but I will certainly use them again. Thanks Gio!
The food was exquisite and virtually everything had been prepared by the chef himself, right down to the tagliatelle and the pastry in the millefoglie. Gio had obviously put a lot of effort into the meal, having been out to buy many of the ingredients earlier that day. The menu was obviously personal to him and each dish came with its own backstory. Additionally, we learned a lot of interesting bits of information that sealed the evening as a foodie's dream. I would highly recommend La Belle Assiette and particularly Gio to people considering this sort of dinner party in the future.

He was so polite and understanding. So happy to tell us all about the wonderful food he had cooked and where it came from. It tasted like I had been transported back to Tuscany and it was heavenly. I certainly hope I can have him again. Perfection!
My star dish is definitely fresh pasta, so I will say handmade tagliatelle with asparagus and ricotta cream sauce.
Obviously the most important thing for me is the word "fresh": the three ingredients are fresh tomato (a great base for all sauces); extra virgin olive oil from Italy, and Italian 00 flour - without it, I would be lost.
I am a private chef because I believe in authenticity and devotion. When I am cooking, I am not just preparing a meal but I am giving away a little piece of myself. Real food is like art: everybody can paint, but few people can create a masterpiece.
