Having been Senior Sous at Le Manoir, he was more than ready for his first Head Chef role. Dave was approached to take over the kitchen of Wales’ Hurst House in 2009. From there, he went on to work at Cotswold House in 2011, before moving on to The Star Inn pub in late 2012 and then Coworth Park two years later. Following that in January 2016 becoming Head Chef of 1 Michelin starred, 3 AA Rosette Red Lion Freehouse in East Chisenbury, Wiltshire "Somewhat unsurprisingly given that Watts spent so long at Le Manoir, the chef’s food is technically exquisite and his menus parade some luxurious British and French ingredients – like foie gras, turbot, Hand dived Scallops and rare breed livestoke." David Watts was terrific. Super professional, very very helpful. Great food all made for a very successful evening. He saw I was struggling with my canapes and immediately offered to help, even though I hadn't ordered canapes and thought I could make them myself.
Dave was a total star, so relaxed and just unloaded all his equipment in the kitchen and 3 hours later our delicious menu was served! A great way to celebrate a special occasion with non of the hassle of going anywhere! Gorgeous food.
I needed to find a private chef at short notice, to cater for a party of 6 people staying at a private house over the Glastonbury weekend. I contacted La Belle Assiette who introduced and set us up with Dave Watts. Dave was absolutely brilliant... what a star. Completely accommodating of everyones individual requirements and was always happy to go along with last minute change of plans. He also offered to pick up extra provisions for the group from the supermarket ahead of the booking. Every meal he created was delicious, whether breakfast fayre or evening meal...he got it right every time and always with a cheery, positive demeanour. I would definitely book him again in the future

We had a great evening of food cooked by Dave. Dave was extremely professional, informative and clearly passionate about the food he was cooking. Everything was cooked from scratch and using beautiful in-season ingredients. He left the kitchen in a better state than when he arrived! I would highly recommend.
Our chef Dave Watts produced some amazing food for our celebratory dinner evening for 6 and even helped us out by bring some champagne flutes as our rented house lacked them! He cleared up completely and left the kitchen extremely clean. Overall would thoroughly recommend him and La Belle Assiette for arranging it so efficiently.

Dave was super easy to work with and the food he prepared was amazing!! Everything was absolutely delicious. My only reason for not giving 5 stars is it would have been better if there was another person to help serve and clean up. For 7 people, it was difficult for Dave to do everything in a timely manner

We were lucky enough to have Dave Watts as our chef for 10 adults on 30/12/18 to celebrate my husbands 70th birthday and again the following night on New Years Eve. The whole experience from booking, communication, and the food itself was brilliant. Dave was friendly , professional and coped very well with having 5 children under 10 running through the kitchen.

The whole experience was excellent. Dave was punctual, friendly with all of our guests, and the food was of a very high quality. He worked in our small kitchen with our limited equipment and produced great food that was just what we had hoped for.
The feedback from guests was very good and we would book him again without any hesitation.
We invited Chef Watts to cook lunch for 12 of us as the highlight of a weekend celebratory house party; and what a highlight it was.
The grub he served up? We could use superlatives to describe it: we prefer not to. We are are though happy to tell you that one of our guests was, literally (and we kid you not on this), so overcome by the flavours that Chef Watts put together that she was rendered speechless.

Dave was fantastic - great food and lovely guy. It’s fair to say he had his work cut out...preparing, cooking and serving his food in the midst of a chaotic Murder Mystery but he couldn’t have done a better job. He even joined in by presenting the dishes to us in character. Everyone loved the food and he did a cracking job at catering delicious, innovative vegan food as well as great options for the meat eaters. Couldn’t recommend him more!

Everything was brilliant
We wanted a special meal for my Dad’s 70th and Dave Watts gaveus just that. The process from start to finish was so easy and simple and the food was delicious! Dave was very much on display in the open plan kitchen, but got on with everything in the background from prep to cooking to clearing up, allowing us the luxury of our family celebration. Dave cooked for us as part of our hen party and it was a brilliant night. Food was amazing and he joined in the fun and silliness when we wanted him to but was totally professional throughout.

Absolutely brilliant experience. Dave Watts was our chef, he called us in advance to discuss all requirements and helped us with wine recommendations. On the day he was on time, very polite and personable. Each course was cooked and served to a high standard that all of the family were pleased with. Dave was very patient while we were dealing with our very young children. Everything was taken care of and the kitchen was probably cleaner when he left than when he started. Wow! What a great experience. David is a passionate chef who presented well-executed and thought out dishes. The sea bream tartar was, zesty and light. I particularly enjoyed the guinea fowl, which was succulent and full of flavour. The chocolate torte with berries and cherries was one of the finest I’ve tasted. The whole La Belle Assiette experience is one that’s memorable. It’s an excellent idea to welcome a top-notch chef like David into your home to work his culinary magic while you can spend time enjoying the company of your guests.
David was very helpful on email when offering up delicious menu options and took my requests and feedback on board, including cooking a fillet of fish separately for my son, rather then the cured option the adults enjoyed.
David turned up, equipped with everything he needed, joined in the conversation at points during the evening, smiled the whole way through and left the kitchen cleaner than he found it!

Fish as I find it fresh, clean, natural, simple and un-fussy.
Vegetables because they are a wonderful array of colours, textures, flavours and uses.

I love "All things food" so when i'm not cooking I'm looking at cook books and cooking for family and friends. I'm also a keen follower of F1 and rugby as well as enjoying time with my little boy.
