Congratulations to chef Darren Reilly on his successful validation dinner. His validation took place on the 3rd of December in Norwich. The role of the jury members was to try the private chef dining experience and evaluate the menu prepared by the chef.
If you can’t stand the heat, get out of the kitchen! Chef Darren started his career as a chef 29 years ago as a youngster in his Dad’s restaurant and he hasn’t looked back since.
Grilled asparagus and prosciutto with soft egg and wilted chicory
5 hour braised brisket of beef with buttery root vegetable purée, caraway & honey glazed carrots, pearl onions, confit garlic and horseradish
Grilled succulent cod & panko fried cod with garlic tiger prawns, creamed parsley mash, sautéed tender leaf broccoli and fresh pod peas with tartar vinaigrette
Heavenly chocolate brownie with malteaser crunch ice cream and warm chocolate sauce
“A lovely evening with amazing service and incredible food! Darren was a delight and all of the courses were amazing. One of our party was vegan and Darren accommodated for her excellently! Darren also brought a waitress with him to help serve which worked wonderfully. Would definitely recommend both Darren and the company to anyone, thank you!

The jury found that Chef Darren was an absolute delight. His dishes were incredible, with a great combination of flavours, and he was more than happy to cater to everyone’s tastes. Darren also explained each of the dishes in detail with a smile which added a lovely touch to the evening.
