165th validated chef – Philippe Roth

Congratulations to chef Philippe Roth the 165th La Belle Assiette chef to be validated by the jury!

Chef Philippe Roth is our 165th validated chef. His validation dinner took place on Friday 17th April in London.

As with every validation dinner, La Belle Assiette invited 8 guests to take part as the jury. Their role is to experience a private chef dining experience and evaluate the menu prepared by the chef.

Having been inspired by his grandmother’s cooking, Chef Philippe Roth started teaching himself to cook when he was fourteen years old. He was born in La Lorraine and, at the age of four, moved to the Yvelines, where all his food was sourced from the home garden. This helped him to recognise the quality and taste from organically sourced produce. He has worked in prestigious restaurants like Le Tastevin (a 2 Michelin star in France) and worked oversea in Japan (which help him to developed a unique style of cooking). Philippe has been in London for 20 years where he has worked for High Table and Avenance. He is now running his own catering department at a Law firm. Philippe guarantees client satisfaction by always being readily available, regardless of the constraints. To date, Philippe continues to provide first class meals to clients/employees of the firm (including canapés, dinner , finger food, buffet and wine tastings). In addition, Philippe also offers and undertakes cookery classes for employees of the firm, which have proven to be in high demand.

Chef Philippe Roth provided the jury with a truly memorable evening. From start to finish Philippe was a master of the kitchen and in the art of entertaining. His natural charisma coupled with his passion for food make Philippe an exceptional private chef. Every dish delighted the jury but the fillet of beef was the favourite (although every dish was a taste sensation) – perfectly seasoned with an oriental twist the beef almost melted in the mouth. Each plate had elegance in both flavour and presentation. It is clear that Philippe is a talented chef, but it is more than this. He has mastered the art of entertaining, the guests felt relaxed and Philippe executed everything effortlessly. Therefore,  the chef is labelled “validated by the jury”. Congratulations!
