About the Chef

Benjamin Limb was born in the coastal town of Scarborough, North Yorkshire. After finishing a Diploma in Creative Media Ben spent time working in the family business of Antiques and Collectables before deciding to go his own way and moved to York to train as a hotel manager. During his time in York Ben was drawn more and...... Benjamin Limb was born in the coastal town of Scarborough, North Yorkshire. After finishing a Diploma in Creative Media Ben spent time working in the family business of Antiques and Collectables before deciding to go his own way and moved to York to train as a hotel manager. During his time in York Ben was drawn more and more towards the kitchen before finally seeing an opportunity to join Jamie Oliver at a new opening restaurant in Cambridge. Whilst working for Jamie, Ben dedicated his spare time to helping young people develop their cooking skills by setting up workshops with The YMCA, this is a passion that he continued when he took a promotion at Jamie Oliver's Brighton restaurant. Yearning to learn the modern techniques involved in Brighton's fine dining scene Ben felt it was time to leave Jamie and moved to the Brighton based Gingerman Restaurant Group. With The Gingerman, Ben moved up to Sous Chef, gained NVQ qualifications in professional cookery and helped restaurants gain accolades in The Michelin Guide, The AA Restaurant Guide & The Good Food Guide. With all this knowledge gained Ben decided to go into The Private Chef trade to allow his passion and personality to shine. Working out of his new home in Manchester Ben delivers an affordable gastronomic style of food that combines modern creativity to classic dishes and pairings.
